Ultrasound Technologists (Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) perform abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small-parts ultrasound examinations. ARDMS certification (RDMS for abdomen/OB-GYN, RVT for vascular) is the standard credential for travel Ultrasound Tech positions. BLS certification is universally required. Iowa does not require a separate state license for sonographers beyond ARDMS certification. Individual facilities will have their own credentialing requirements — confirm with your recruiter before accepting. Vascular lab positions commonly require dedicated RVT certification.
