Licensing & Credential Requirements
California
An active, unencumbered RN license is required for travel ER positions. California is not a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Travel RNs must obtain an individual California RN license before starting an assignment. Apply through the California Board of Registration in Nursing well before your start date. BLS certification is universally required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required depending on the unit and facility. Verify specific requirements with your recruiter.
North Carolina
An active, unencumbered RN license is required for travel ER positions. North Carolina is a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
