Emergency Department RN — Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract
This travel opportunity places you in a fast-paced adult emergency department serving a diverse patient population across all acuity levels, including neuro-trauma, stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, cardiac emergencies, and general adult/geriatric ED presentations. The unit also cares for pediatric patients and includes a dedicated crisis intervention area.
Shift & Schedule
- Rotating days and nights, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday, as needed
- Contract length: 13 weeks | Start: October 27, 2026
Licensure & Certifications Required
- Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not a compact state; must be in hand at time of submission)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS must be included at submission)
- PALS and TNCC preferred
Required Clinical Skills
- IV vasopressors, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy
- CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
- Arterial line management, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation
- Cardiac monitoring — interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG
- Stroke/CVA, neuro-trauma, TBI, spinal cord injury
- , isolation precautions, ortho trauma, gunshot wounds
- Management of acute psychosis, suicidal patients, drug overdose, violent behavior
Unit Details
- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
- Floating required within skillset
- Scrub color: Any combination of navy blue and white
- Special equipment: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment
Additional Requirements
- Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
- First-time travelers accepted (minimum 1 year of ED experience required)
- Charting system experience is a hard requirement
- No more than 10 days of pre-approved RTO considered
