Licensing & Credential Requirements
An active, unencumbered RN license is required. Kentucky is a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. RNs holding a multistate compact license issued by their home state can practice in Kentucky without obtaining a separate state license, which simplifies onboarding significantly. ACLS certification is required for all cardiac RN assignments. BLS is universally required. Hemodynamic monitoring experience is a baseline requirement. Most facilities expect competency with arterial/venous sheath management, conscious sedation, and emergency response protocols including IABP and temporary pacemaker management.
