Position Overview

The facility's cardiac catheterization lab is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to provide direct patient care for those undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You'll work alongside cardiologists, cath lab technicians, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based nursing care in a dynamic procedural environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures (diagnostic angiograms, PCI/stent placements, device implants)
• Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; communicate changes to the clinical team immediately
• Administer medications, sedation, and contrast media per physician orders and established protocols
• Circulate and assist physicians during procedures
• Prepare patients pre-procedure with education; provide recovery care and discharge instructions
• Manage vascular access sites, including sheath removal and hemostasis
• Respond to emergent complications (arrhythmias, hemorrhage, vasovagal reactions)
• Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient response accurately
• Collaborate with cardiologists and the care team on individualized treatment planning

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ADN or ASN minimum; BSN preferred
• 1+ years of cardiac catheterization lab experience
• Ability to respond to emergent and on-call cases

Preferred Qualifications

• RCIS certification
• Previous cath lab experience
