ACLS certification is required for all cardiac RN assignments. BLS is universally required. A minimum of two years of dedicated cardiovascular OR experience is typically required. Facilities expect competency with CPB nursing responsibilities, blood product administration, and post-bypass hemodynamic management. CNOR certification is preferred but not always mandatory.
