Licensing & Credential Requirements
Travel Nuclear Med Tech positions require active ARRT certification in the appropriate modality. Most facilities also expect current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Texas requires MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist) certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services in addition to ARRT. Either ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification is accepted at most facilities. PET/CT experience is increasingly required, especially at oncology-focused centers. Radiation safety officer certification is a plus for smaller departments where the tech manages compliance. Apply for MRT certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services.
