Licensing & Credential Requirements
Travel Nuclear Med Tech positions require active ARRT certification in the appropriate modality. Most facilities also expect current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Alabama does not require a separate state license for ARRT-certified radiologic technologists. Either ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification is accepted at most facilities. PET/CT experience is increasingly required, especially at oncology-focused centers. Radiation safety officer certification is a plus for smaller departments where the tech manages compliance.
