Step-Down / Medical-Surgical RN — Night Shift | Morgantown, WV
This 13-week travel contract places you on a combined Step-Down and Medical-Surgical unit running 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), including every other weekend and holidays per the permanent staff rotation.
Unit Overview
The unit serves a general medical-surgical population across two levels of acuity. Common diagnoses include chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, ia, UTI, abdominal pain, and overflow from various services. The unit also manages GIP Hospice patients.
- Telemetry is present throughout; RNs must independently read cardiac strips alongside dedicated monitor techs
- A dedicated charge nurse and house supervisor are available each shift
- Nurse aide support is available when fully staffed
Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: 12-hour nights | 2 weekends per scheduling period
- Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks | Start: November 8, 2026
- Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
Float Requirement
Travelers may be pulled to other floor or step-down units within the facility.
Requirements
- Active RN license (willing to wait for licensure)
- BLS certification
- Ability to read telemetry strips
- Royal blue scrubs
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Primary residence must be 50+ miles from the facility
