Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Night Shift)

Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

This Med/Surg Telemetry position is based in a Magnet-recognized acute care facility in Rochester, NY. The unit serves adult and geriatric populations, with a clinical focus on cardiac monitoring, neurological assessment, and general medical-surgical care. Nurses work alongside a robust interdisciplinary team that includes respiratory services, IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and physical therapy.

Schedule & Coverage

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday, as needed
• Floating within skillset required

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not a Compact state; must be in hand at time of submission)
• BLS (current)
• NIHSS (valid certification required at submission)

Clinical Skills Required

• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Rapid Response and Code team participation
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Oxygen administration (nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen tanks)
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Additional Details

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Scrub color: Navy blue and white combination
• Pre-approved time off: Up to 10 days per contract
• Start date: December 8, 2026
