Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery position offers rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract. The unit cares for pregnant patients at any gestational age and provides evaluation for postpartum patients within six weeks of delivery. OB and midwifery care are both provided, with strong support for family-centered birth, lactation, and high-risk obstetric management.
Schedule & Logistics
- 4x12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday, as needed
- No on-call requirement
- RNs residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Float within skillset required
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Active New York Single State RN license (must be in hand at submission; NY is not a Compact state)
- ACLS or OB-ACLS, BLS, NRP, EFM Certification
Clinical Skills Required
- Vaginal and high-risk delivery assistance; C-section circulation and recovery
- Magnesium sulfate therapy; Pitocin, Terbutaline, and antihypertensive administration
- External fetal monitoring (EFM) and IUPC placement and calibration
- Non-stress testing (NST); APGAR scoring; newborn assessment and resuscitation
- Postpartum hemorrhage management; pre-eclampsia/eclampsia care
- Foley catheter insertion; fundus, lochia, and perineum care
- ID/security banding; radiant warmer/thermoregulation
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience
- Electronic health records experience required (hard requirement)
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- First-time travelers accepted
