Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Rochester, NY

13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

This cardiac-focused Med-Surg/Telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with a range of cardiac diagnoses. The clinical environment is fast-paced, with robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services.

Shift & Scheduling

• Night shift: 4x12, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• Block scheduling considered but not guaranteed
• Maximum 1 week of RTO per contract
• Start date: December 7, 2026

Clinical Requirements

• Phlebotomy and IV insertion are mandatory competencies for all RNs on this unit
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Oxygen administration (nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks)
• Non-invasive airway management
• Peripheral line care and management
• Rapid response team activation
• Isolation precautions and PPE compliance

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Active, in-hand New York RN license required at time of submission
• BLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Experience with an electronic charting system strongly preferred — this is considered a hard requirement for this position
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Floating within scope to like units is required

Orientation: 16 hours
