ICU Registered Nurse — Night Shift | Bakersfield, CA
A fast-growing California community is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract. This night shift position runs 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM on a 36-hour guaranteed weekly schedule, with the option for 48-hour weeks.
About the Role
You'll deliver coordinated nursing care to high-acuity ICU patients, applying critical thinking and independent clinical judgment throughout each shift. Responsibilities include:
- Comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis support, and outcome-focused care planning
- Implementation and ongoing evaluation of individualized care plans
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families to ensure a safe, healing environment
- Patient and family education, including discharge planning to support continuity of care
- Supervision and direction of nursing staff across various levels
Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Start date: December 7, 2026
Requirements
- Active RN license in California (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience, ICU preferred
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS certification — AHA or ARC (required)
- BSN preferred
- Electronic health record proficiency required
