Respiratory Therapist – NICU
Position Overview
Seasonal travel position in the NICU providing respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This is a 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Unit Description
The respiratory care department manages a fast-paced NICU environment with Level III capabilities. You'll provide airway management, ventilator management, and emergency department support. The unit uses a range of ventilation equipment and maintains a collaborative care model with nursing and physician teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Airway and ventilator management for neonatal and pediatric patients
- Emergency department respiratory support
- Close collaboration with nursing, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making in a critical care setting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months current NICU RRT experience
- Level III NICU experience required
- Pediatric respiratory care experience
- Current NBRC Certification
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical care or PICU experience
- Prior experience with current charting systems
