Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical Nursing
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Location: Bowling Green, KY
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monthly (4-week) cycles; full-time staff work four weekend shifts per month
About the Role
Join a combined orthopedic and medical-surgical unit providing care across two connected areas. You'll manage a typical patient load of six patients, supported by PCTs, SNEs, and a unit secretary during day shift hours. The unit welcomes all experience levels—whether you're an RN, LPN, or PCT.
Clinical Environment
You'll care for orthopedic and post-surgical patients, including those recovering from procedures. While some attending physicians perform bedside procedures on the unit, this occurs less frequently than in critical care or emergency settings. You'll work alongside a collaborative team and may float to other inpatient units, CCU, or the ED as needed to support patient care.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork
- Ability to manage a patient load and provide patient-centered care
Dress Code
Scrub top and bottoms (no fleece, hoodies, denim, or camo). Long sleeve shirt or scrub jacket under scrub top permitted. Closed-toe shoes required.
