Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN — Austin, TX

Nights | 13-Week Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week

This float pool position supports high-acuity pediatric patients across the PICU, NICU, and Cardiovascular ICU, with potential to float to acute medical-surgical units and the emergency room. The role demands clinical flexibility and confidence managing critically ill neonatal, pediatric, and pediatric cardiac patients.

Shift Details

• 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (nights)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Anticipated start: November 29, 2026

Clinical Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and adjust individualized patient care plans
• Assess patient condition and communicate changes to the care team
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and carry out physician and nursing orders
• Facilitate discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team

Float Scope

• Primary: PICU, NICU, CVICU
• Potential: Acute medical-surgical units, emergency room

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Pediatric ICU, CVICU, or NICU
• Active RN license (Nursys verification required)
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Acute care or emergency room experience
• TNCC certification

• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Units are staffed with charge nurses and patient care technicians
• Contract duration: 13 weeks (90-week position available)
