SICU Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Salem, VA
This surgical/medical ICU position supports a high-acuity patient population requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and complex cardiac interventions. The unit operates on night shift (19:00–07:00) with a team of RNs and externs. The role is team-focused, and candidates who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced critical care environments will be a strong fit.
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Start Date: November 30, 2026
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Temporary ventricular pacing (TVP) and transcutaneous pacing (TCP)
- Post-cardiac catheterization care and sheath removal
- Bedside tracheostomy
- Sustained low-efficiency dialysis (SLED)
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring including intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella support, Swan-Ganz catheterization, and cerebral cooling
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Prior ICU experience (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiac ICU experience
- CCRN certification
Scheduling & Float
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call obligation
- No block scheduling guarantee
- Floating throughout the facility possible
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
