Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) | Travel RN | Salem, VA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour days)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Start Date: November 2, 2026

This travel RN opportunity is in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit managing high-acuity post-surgical patients. The unit provides intensive monitoring and intervention for a complex patient population, with procedures including drain management and central line placement.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Prior ICU experience (required — candidates without this will not be considered)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Surgical ICU or surgical nursing background

Schedule & Expectations:

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call obligation
• Float coverage throughout the facility as needed

Unit Details:

• Supportive team structure with clinical coordination on day shift
• Navy blue scrubs required

The ideal candidate is team-focused, comfortable in a fast-paced critical care environment, and experienced managing critically ill surgical patients.
