Medical/Surgical RN — Night Shift | San Luis Obispo, CA

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3×12s, nights (no set days) | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

This medical/surgical unit cares for a diverse patient population spanning adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients across a range of acuity levels. You'll manage both stable and emergent situations, delivering comprehensive nursing care with an emphasis on collaboration and patient education.

Clinical Scope:

• Medication administration and intravenous therapy, including blood products
• Epidural management and post-operative wound care
• Care and maintenance of indwelling catheters and drains
• Vascular patency assessment and sterile technique
• Multidisciplinary care planning in collaboration with the broader healthcare team
• Patient and family education tailored to age, condition, and learning readiness
• Delegation of appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice

Requirements:

• Current RN license in state of practice
• BLS certification (from an approved vendor)
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent medical/surgical nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• No on-call required
