Neuroscience ICU (NSICU) | Night Shift | Richmond, VA
This travel RN opportunity places you in a dedicated Neuroscience ICU managing complex, high-acuity neurological and neurosurgical patients. The unit cares for patients post-thrombectomy, post-TPA administration, post-tumor resection and biopsy, and those requiring ongoing ventriculostomy and lumbar drain management with hourly neurological monitoring.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Every other weekend required; no on-call
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 23, 2026
Clinical Requirements
- ICU experience required
- Experience with neuro/stroke patients required
- Neuroscience ICU background preferred
Procedures & Skills
- Ventriculostomy insertion and management
- Lumbar drain management (Q1 hr monitoring)
- Pupillometer monitoring
- Post-thrombectomy and post-TPA care
- Post-neurosurgical care (tumor resection/biopsy)
Floating
Candidates must be able to float within the hospital; if pulled to the neuroscience stepdown unit, you may manage 4–5 patients.
