Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR ORT)
Position Overview
Join the cardiovascular operating room team as a scrub technician. You'll support a high-acuity cardiac and thoracic surgery program, working 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM with on-call responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Scrub cardiac cases requiring cardiopulmonary bypass, including CABG, valve replacements, and aortic dissection repairs. You'll also support thoracic procedures including daVinci-assisted lobectomy, wedge resections, mediastinal lymph node biopsies, and ECMO initiation. Additional cases include TAVRs, open thoracotomy, VATS, and pericardial window procedures.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency scrubbing cardiac bypass cases and related mediastinal procedures
- Advanced skills with thoracic surgery, daVinci-assisted cases, VATS, and ECMO
- Ability to take call (call starts at 3:00 PM when assigned)
- Weekend call availability: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (when assigned)

- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs

Unit hours of operation are 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Unit secretaries and technicians support the OR team.
