Medical Surgical Trauma ICU (MSTICU) — Travel RN | Richmond, VA

Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Contract

The facility's Medical Surgical Trauma ICU is a high-acuity critical care unit caring for complex trauma, neurological, and surgical patients. This is a fast-paced environment that demands skilled, adaptable clinicians who thrive under pressure and prioritize compassionate patient- and family-centered care.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• May be placed on call if overtime hours are reached

Clinical Scope

Procedures performed on this unit include intubations, lumbar punctures, intracranial bolt placement with ventriculostomy, therapeutic cooling, colonoscopy, EGD, and chest tube insertion. Candidates must have prior trauma ICU experience.

Preferred Experience

• Neuro ICU background
• Burn patient care experience

Float Expectations

Nurses may float to Trauma Stepdown or other ICU and stepdown units within the facility.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS and ACLS (required)
• Previous trauma center experience (required)
• Strong interpersonal skills; team-oriented, flexible, and empathetic

Dress Code: Navy scrubs
