Pediatric Nurse – Travel Contract | Richmond, VA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Days)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Start Date: October 12, 2026

This pediatric unit provides inpatient care for a diverse pediatric population across a range of acuity levels. The team is experienced and long-tenured, and the unit operates as a locked, secure environment with dedicated pediatric safety measures in place.

Clinical Scope & Procedures:

• Head-to-toe assessment, IV placement, medication administration
• Respiratory support, including oxygen therapy (nasal cannula and high-flow setup)
• Nasogastric/gastric tube placement and feeding
• Blood transfusion administration, lab collection
• Chest tube maintenance

Float Requirements:

• May float to the PICU to care for step-down patients
• Potential assignment to Labor & Delivery Recovery/Post-Partum for healthy newborn care
• Adult care support as a tech may occasionally be needed

Scheduling:

• Every other weekend required (A shift: Sat/Sun; P shift: Fri/Sat)
• Preference-based scheduling available

Required Certifications:

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience: 1–3 years pediatric nursing experience preferred

Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (pediatric-themed scrub tops permitted)

Unit Highlights:
