Cardiac Sonographer – Echocardiography

Position Overview

The facility seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to join the echocardiography department. You'll perform transthoracic echocardiograms in an acute care setting, with an average of 8 studies per day (6 outpatient, 2 inpatient). A cardiologist reader is available in-house.

Schedule & Location

• Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Weekend/Holiday Duty: On-call rotation, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Primary Location: Main facility, with potential float to affiliated hospital locations and outpatient clinics
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cardiac sonographer experience
• BLS (AHA) certification
• RDCS (Adult Echocardiography) through ARDMS, OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI (must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not held at start)

Clinical Scope

You'll perform transthoracic echocardiograms using modern imaging equipment. The department operates one echo room with an in-house cardiologist available for study interpretation. If trained and capable, you may place IVs; assistance is available as needed.

Working Conditions

• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Up to 2 shift cancellations allowed per 13-week contract period
