Ultrasound Technologist — General Ultrasound
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform general diagnostic ultrasound procedures on the night shift. This is a 13-week contract position.
Shift & Schedule
- Weekend coverage only: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 24 hours per week
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality general ultrasound exams in accordance with physician orders and department protocols
- Operate ultrasound equipment, select appropriate transducers and settings to optimize image quality
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures, obtaining relevant medical history, and positioning correctly
- Recognize and document normal and abnormal sonographic findings
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians, providing preliminary impressions and ensuring timely delivery of images and reports
- Maintain accurate patient records and technical documentation
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of equipment
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and radiation safety protocols
- Participate in quality assurance and continuing education
- Maintain HIPAA and regulatory compliance
- Communicate clearly with patients and families across all age groups (neonatal through geriatric)
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years ultrasound experience
- ARDMS certification in Abdominal (AB) or Obstetrics (OB)
- General ultrasound focus only; vascular experience not required
