Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN — Morgantown, WV

13-Week Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (07:00–19:00)

This Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit cares for a predominantly cardiac patient population, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures, alongside general medical/surgical patients. Acuity ranges broadly — some patients would be classified as Progressive Care or Telemetry in other settings.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); weekdays with some weekend coverage required
• Weekend block schedules considered (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Holiday RTO limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending accepted at submission)
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience overall
• At least 1 year in Med/Surg or Telemetry
• At least 2 years in a Stepdown setting

Key Skills

• IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and rhythm strip interpretation
• Cardiac drip and vasoactive drip management/titration
• BiPAP/CPAP, central line and PICC care, chest tube management
• Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Heparin and insulin protocol management
• Non-invasive airway management, wound care, tracheostomy care

• Strong interdisciplinary support on unit including respiratory, pharmacy, rapid response, and PT
