Labor & Delivery Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility's Labor & Delivery unit is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract (7 PM – 7 AM). You'll provide comprehensive care to pregnant patients and families across the perinatal continuum, from labor support through delivery and immediate postpartum care.
Clinical Scope
You'll practice independently, managing routine and complex perinatal cases. Responsibilities include:
- Patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation across the nursing process
- Fetal monitoring and interpretation of maternal-fetal status
- Medication and treatment administration with protocol adherence
- Documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care delivered
- Patient and family education on labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Delegation and coordination with interdisciplinary team members
Requirements
- Current RN license (Texas or compact state)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current NRP certification
- Current ACLS certification (AHA)
- Current fetal monitoring certification: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- 1+ year perinatal nursing experience preferred, or recent perinatal practice

New hires complete orientation within 30 days and receive precepted training with competency validation specific to perinatal services.
