Operating Room Nurse – Cardiovascular Surgery
Position Overview
The facility is seeking two full-time OR nurses for its cardiovascular surgery program. This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to work in a specialty surgical environment with experienced clinical teams.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend rotation required
- One call day per week during the week
- One holiday call expectation
Clinical Scope
You will provide perioperative nursing care for open-heart and cardiovascular surgical cases, with flexibility to support general OR procedures as needed. Responsibilities include:
- Preoperative and postoperative patient assessment and care
- Instrument and equipment management during surgery
- Monitoring patient responses to anesthesia and surgical intervention
- Accurate documentation of all patient care activities
- Patient and family education regarding procedures and recovery
- Collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical teams
Required Qualifications
- RN license in Texas or compact state
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiovascular OR (CVOR) nursing
- Proficiency with electronic health records charting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
