Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Position Overview
Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. You'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs using the nursing process. Lead patient education and coordinate with ancillary staff while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: Saturday and Sunday
- Hours: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
- Contract Duration: 56 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 24 per week
- Pay Period: Monday through Sunday
Required Qualifications
- Current Iowa RN license
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (required)
- Prior nursing experience preferred but not required
Pre-Employment Requirements
All items below must be submitted at least five business days before your start date:
- Current resume and two recent employment references
- Online verification of licensure with expiration dates and disciplinary history (within 30 days of start)
- Copies of current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Complete immunization records: MMR, Varicella, Polio, Hepatitis B, TDaP (within 10 years), and seasonal flu vaccination
- TB screening (2-step Mantoux or QuantiFERON Gold within 1 year)
- Physical exam within 1 year
- 10-panel drug screen within 1 month
- Criminal background check covering all states where licensed/lived/worked (past 7 years)
- National and state sex offender registry clearance
- OIG clearance
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse)
- CareLearning education module completion
