PACU Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced PACU nurse for a 13-week contract, working 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–11:00 PM). You'll provide immediate post-operative care and recovery for patients across multiple surgical specialties in a fast-paced acute care setting.
Unit & Patient Population
Requirements
- Current RN license
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience
- Critical care background preferred
- Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Staffing & Support
- Rotating charge nurse available (takes patient assignment)
- Hospitalist or intensivist on-site; on-call after hours
- Respiratory therapy 24/7
- Anesthesia services 24/7
- Pharmacy in-house until 10:30 PM, satellite coverage thereafter
- Optional floating to ACU or preoperative area if interested
Orientation & Logistics
- Floor-specific orientation with dedicated preceptor
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- No mandatory weekend or holiday call requirements
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Hospital cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
