Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Nights | Smyrna, TN

This 13-week night shift contract places you in a Progressive Care Unit focused on step-down and intermediate-level cardiac and pulmonary patients. The unit operates on a night schedule (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Unit Overview

The PCU manages patients requiring close monitoring following cardiac procedures, with an emphasis on post-catheterization care and advanced pulmonary management. A unit tech is available on shift to support the nursing team.

Clinical Expectations

• Post-cath care, including TR band management
• Advanced pulmonary treatments
• Medication titration
• Adherence to patient experience standards: AIDET framework, communication board completion, and medication teaching

Schedule & Float

• Every other weekend required
• Float rotation shared with full-time staff and other travelers

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Dress Code

• Charcoal gray scrubs
