13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 Hours Guaranteed/Week
This Family Birth Center position is ideal for an experienced L&D nurse comfortable working in a lower-volume, community-based birth setting with a high degree of autonomy. The unit manages approximately 150–175 births per year, and you may at times be the only L&D nurse on site, with a second nurse available on call.
What to Expect Clinically:
- Cephalic and cesarean deliveries; during C-sections, you will be responsible for newborn care with support from respiratory therapy and anesthesia
- Gestational patients at 36 weeks or less are typically transferred to a higher-level facility
- Float coverage to Medical/Surgical for tasking as needed; orientation provided for each float unit
Shift & Schedule Details:
- 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend
- First to float
- Holiday rotation with permanent staff
- Hospital-issued ceil blue scrubs
Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
- COVID Vaccine
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
- Active RN license (required at time of submission)
- BSN not required
- Respiratory therapy support available 24/7
Cancellation Policy: Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled over a 13-week assignment.
