Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a skilled CVOR RN for its cardiothoracic operating room. This is a 12-hour day shift role with call requirements every other weekend and potential float responsibilities within the OR to other surgical specialties as needed.

Schedule & Contract

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12 hours)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirement: Every other weekend; 30-minute response time
• Float Requirements: First to float; may float to main OR or other surgical areas as needed
• Orientation: 1 week or until comfortable

Clinical Details

You'll work as a circulator in a single-suite CVOR managing approximately 2 cases per week. Common procedures include straightforward CABGs, aortic and mitral valve replacements, and thoracotomies. The unit operates with 2 circulators per case. Scrubbing is not required but welcomed if you have the skill.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• Charge RN will manage daily assignments

Cancellation Policy

The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.

Scrubs are provided. Orientation is tailored to your comfort level with the unit's workflow and case types.
