Circulating RN – Trauma Operating Room
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Circulating RN to support a busy trauma operating room. You'll manage intraoperative patient care, coordinate with surgical teams, and ensure safe, efficient procedures in a high-acuity environment.
Schedule
- Primary: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
- On-Call: Variable shifts including evenings (3:30 PM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Monday–Friday) and weekend coverage (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday–Sunday)
- Holiday Call Required: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day (1–2 shifts anticipated)
Requirements
- Current RN license in your state/district
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience, with trauma background required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- BSN highly desired
- Ability to relocate within 100 miles of the facility
Key Responsibilities
- Perform circulating and/or scrubbing duties for operative procedures
- Prepare operating rooms and assemble equipment and supplies
- Maintain aseptic technique and departmental standards
- Coordinate with surgical teams to assess, plan, and evaluate intraoperative care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
