ICU Registered Nurse — Travel Contract

Utica, NY | Days | 13-Week Contract

This ICU travel position supports a comprehensive critical care unit managing high-acuity patients across neurological, medical, cardiovascular surgical, and trauma populations. The unit cares for patients presenting with strokes, sepsis, altered mental status, respiratory failure, CHF, post-STEMI complications, cardiogenic shock, aortic aneurysm surgery, cardiovascular surgery, and major trauma/post-operative cases.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts, 3x/week)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, or MS ICU); 4–5 years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• CRRT experience required
• Cardiac/heart experience strongly preferred and prioritized
• Proficiency with: IABP, CRRT, ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and targeted temperature management

Certifications Required

• AHA BLS and ACLS (current)
• NIHSS certification
• Active NY RN license

Additional Details

• Scrub color: Navy
• Floating required to other ICU areas (excluding Behavioral Health and ED, unless on hold status)
• Local candidates (within 75 miles) are welcome to apply

This is a clinically demanding role best suited for experienced ICU nurses with a strong cardiac and critical care background seeking a longer-term travel engagement.
