ICU – Critical Care RN | 13-Week Travel Contract | Parkersburg, WV

Shift: 12-hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: November 30, 2026

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Unit Overview

This ICU manages a high-acuity medical and surgical patient population across a variety of complex diagnoses, including sepsis, ia, COVID-19, CHF, COPD, DKA, overdose, renal failure, neurosurgical cases (lumbar drains, ventriculostomies), and general and vascular surgery patients. All rooms are private with negative pressure capability.

Clinical Expectations

• Titrate all critical care drips within ordered parameters, including vasoactives, sedation, and paralytics
• Perform and assist with central line care and removal
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and admission to the monitoring system; remote tele techs serve as backup
• Respiratory therapy is available on-unit during day hours, covering all critical care overnight

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of critical care experience (prior travel experience preferred)
• Proficiency in CRRT, IABP, ventilator management, post-code care, and therapeutic hypothermia
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS

Scheduling & Logistics

• Every other weekend required (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon based on unit need)
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling permitted based on unit needs
• Float requirement: Stepdown and Med/Surg as needed
• Up to 2 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment
• Scrubs: Royal blue; scrub jackets must be official scrub jackets (no hoodies)
• Orientation: 2 shifts general/floor; required education modules must be completed prior to start
