Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Greensburg, PA

This 13-week travel assignment places you in an active Labor & Delivery unit managing patients across the full spectrum of obstetric care — from routine labors to high-risk deliveries and postpartum complications.

Shift Details

Rotating 4x12-hour shifts covering both days (07:00–19:30) and nights (19:00–07:30). Weekend coverage is required on a rotating basis, with every other holiday expected.

Clinical Scope

• Sterile vaginal exams, assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries
• Circulating in cesarean sections and C-section recovery
• IV insertion, venous blood draws, and infusion/drip management
• Newborn stabilization and neonatal resuscitation (NRP)
• Recognition and management of postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, and HELLP syndrome
• External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns
• Magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, antihypertensives, and of obstetric patients
• VBAC management, malpresentation, and multiple gestation care

Required Certifications

AWHONN Intermediate | BLS (AHA only) | FHM | NRP

Preferred

AWHONN Advanced | Charge experience | Electronic charting experience

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
• Willing to float within the hospital system to a sister facility within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Pre-start modules must be completed before the first day; all compliance cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
