Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions on the 3rd shift (7 PM – 7 AM).

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, prioritize needs, and develop individualized care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Ensure compliance with infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
• 1+ years of medical-surgical / telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Telemetry / EKG interpretation competency required
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12-hour nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 30, 2026
