Step Down Unit — Nights | Waco, TX

13-Week Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week

This night-shift opportunity places you in a fast-paced cardiovascular and vascular stepdown unit where nurses float within the critical care service line. If you have a strong cardiac and vascular background, this role offers a clinically rich environment with consistent acuity.

Shift Details

• 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Float requirement within the critical care service line

Clinical Scope

You'll manage intermediate-to-high acuity patients, including:

• Post-operative CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA repair, lobectomy, and CEA
• NSTEMI, STEMI, and ACS presentations
• Patients requiring HFNC and BiPAP support
• Stable GTT management
• Temporary and permanent pacer management
• Sepsis, GI bleed, post-DKA, respiratory failure, and trach care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (verification required at submission)
• CV and vascular experience strongly preferred
• EKG interpretation proficiency
• Skills checklist and specialty exam required at onboarding
• Two professional references required at submission

Immunizations & Health Requirements

MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA), and fit testing required prior to start.

Additional Onboarding

Background check, drug screen, employment verification, and color vision screening required.
