Psychiatry – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a psychiatric nurse for a day shift role on an inpatient psychiatry unit. This is a 13-week contract position.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Day shift only
Clinical Environment
You'll provide direct patient care in a psychiatry setting, working alongside physicians, therapists, social workers, and nursing colleagues. The unit focuses on assessment, treatment planning, and supportive care for patients experiencing psychiatric conditions and mental health crises.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care
- Monitor patient behavior, medication effects, and mental status
- Participate in therapeutic milieu and group activities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on treatment plans
- Document care and communicate with leadership
Requirements
- Current RN license (or applicable LPN/LVN license, depending on role)
- Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work in a structured, supportive team environment
