Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced OR Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work 4x10-hour day shifts (11:00–21:30) in a busy surgical environment managing diverse patient populations across multiple service lines.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Level I Trauma OR experience (hard requirement)
• 4+ years of total OR experience preferred
• Teaching hospital OR experience required
• Current RN licensure for Pennsylvania
• Must be able to scrub (hard requirement)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS and CNOR preferred

Clinical Scope

You'll scrub and circulate across multiple surgical service lines including General, Trauma, Robotics, Bariatric, Colorectal, Urology, Gynecology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Neuro, Orthopedics, Burns, Plastics, ENT, Dental/Maxillofacial, Thoracic, Vascular, and Transplant.

Specific Skills & Experience

• Strong trauma experience: amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, multiple-injury MVAs
• General Surgery: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy
• Neuro: cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy
• Robotic surgical experience required; vascular/endovascular experience strongly preferred
• Competency with electrosurgical units, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol

Schedule & Staffing

• Weekend coverage required as needed
• On-call responsibilities as needed
• One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract
• No block scheduling accommodation

Facility Details

The facility operates 24 main operating rooms with a designated trauma OR and 2 hybrid ORs for endovascular and structural heart procedures. Patient population spans neonatal through geriatric.
