Progressive Care Unit – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This is a 13-week contract with guaranteed hours of 72 per biweekly period.
Clinical Scope
You'll provide care to high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention. Core competencies include the ability to titrate vasopressors, manage hemodynamically unstable patients, and respond to rapid patient changes. You may float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units in 4-hour blocks as needed.
Schedule & Staffing
- 12-hour nights, every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday for night staff)
- Weekly start dates on Mondays
- Floating is expected but occurs in structured 4-hour intervals
Requirements
- Current BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred; required if you have no prior travel nursing experience
- Must be separated from the facility for a minimum of 6 months prior to application
- Day-one competency testing (pass/fail) will be administered
- Relias practice tests available for preparation
