Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Rochester, NY | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 13-Week Contract

This CVICU position supports a high-acuity cardiac critical care patient population, including post-cardiac surgery patients, advanced cardiac device management, and complex multi-organ failure cases. The unit cares for patients with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory failure/shock, pre-VAD workups, post-cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management, and multi-organ dysfunction.

Shift & Scheduling

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 4x12s
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, as needed
• Float required within skillset

Required Credentials

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not compact; must be in hand at submission)
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience; prior travel experience required
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

Required Clinical Skills

• Arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Ventilator management; HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP support; ABG interpretation
• Continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration
• CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz monitoring
• CVVHD/CRRT, ECMO care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• 12-lead EKG acquisition, procedural sedation, wound vac care

• Robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
