Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Rochester, NY | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Contract

This CVICU position supports a high-acuity cardiac critical care unit managing complex cases including post-cardiac surgery recovery, heart failure, ARDS, sepsis, renal failure, multi-organ dysfunction, post-cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management, and respiratory failure. The unit cares for patients requiring advanced cardiac device support and transitions patients to dedicated step-down units for cardiac rehabilitation.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday, as needed
• Float within ICU skillset required

Clinical Skills Required

• Arterial, central, and PICC line management
• Ventilator management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP
• ABG interpretation; chest tube insertion/removal assistance
• Continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz, CVVHD/CRRT, ECMO
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management; 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license (required at time of submission; NY is not a Compact state)
• ACLS, BLS, and valid NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience; travel experience required
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Scrub color: Navy blue and white combination
