Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work days, 4x10 hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM), with on-call and holiday coverage requirements as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate open-heart surgical cases with proficiency in vein harvesting techniques
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans throughout the perioperative period
- Communicate patient conditions clearly to the surgical team and coordinate care across disciplines
- Execute physician and nursing orders with precision
- Assess discharge planning needs and collaborate with the healthcare team
- Adhere to Standard Precautions and use appropriate personal protective equipment
- Work independently with strong critical thinking and sound judgment in a high-stress environment
Required Qualifications
- Current active RN license (verification required at submission)
- Proven experience circulating open-heart cases
- Experience with vein harvesting
- Ability to manage complex patient care and make decisive clinical judgments
- Willingness to take call and work holidays as scheduled
