NICU – Level II | Night Shift | Eureka, CA | 26-Week Contract

This Level II NICU opportunity is ideal for neonatal nurses experienced in caring for premature and medically fragile infants. The unit focuses on stabilizing neonates at 32 weeks gestation and above, with transfer coordination to higher levels of care when needed.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Weekend coverage required; must meet departmental needs per union contract
• Holiday commitment: must work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Float to nearby sister facilities may be required; refusal may result in assignment termination

Clinical Scope

• Patient population: neonates (32 weeks and above)

• Procedures: CPAP management, UAC/UVC line care, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high-flow support
• Additional skills: attending high-risk deliveries, breastfeeding support and breast milk handling, eat/sleep/console assessment
• Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Required Certifications

• BLS, NRP, STABLE

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required; 2 years preferred
• Valid compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
• 2 professional references covering the past 3 years required prior to start
• Charge experience preferred

Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) including location and dates.
