Registered Nurse – Pediatric/Adolescent Psychiatric Unit

The Opportunity

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a pediatric and adolescent psychiatric unit. You'll deliver direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary team members on treatment planning, and provide education to patients and families. You'll help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while supporting high-acuity behavioral health care.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (three 12-hour shifts per week)
• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 23, 2026
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Current Maine RN license (no license actions or background hits)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• 1–3 years prior nursing experience with children and adolescents preferred
• Basic Dysrhythmia certification preferred or obtained during orientation
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained during orientation
• Ability to work well in high-stress situations; responsible, supportive team player

Important Notes

• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
• The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts within the 13-week contract period
• Previous facility employees are not eligible
