Registered Nurse – NICU
Position Overview
Join the NICU team at the facility in Austin, TX. This is a 90-week contract position offering 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Scheduling: Must be flexible; no block scheduling
- Floating: You will function as a float within the NICU and may be called to support other units within the Women's Hospital as needed, though you will not assume a patient assignment outside your primary unit
Unit Details
The NICU is a high-acuity setting managing critically ill and premature neonates. You'll work alongside Charge RNs, Code Neonatal RNs, Clerks, and Milk Techs in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Navy blue scrubs are required.
Requirements
- Current RN license (Nursys verification required)
- Proof of current vaccinations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, Varicella
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot)
- Valid Driver's License or State ID
- Background check and drug screening
- PALS/NRP certification preferred
- Ability to pass facility-specific competency assessments upon onboarding
