Inpatient Rehabilitation RN — Night Shift | Greensboro, NC

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

This inpatient rehabilitation unit provides specialized nursing care for adults and geriatric patients recovering from neurologically complex diagnoses, including CVA, TBI, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and generalized debility. Post-surgical patients (stroke, aneurysm, brain and spinal cord surgery) are a core part of the census.

Schedule & Expectations

• Night shift: every-third-weekend rotation; holiday coverage as needed
• Float required across multiple campus locations within the health system
• Contract start: December 7, 2026

Clinical Responsibilities

• Laboratory result interpretation and medication reconciliation
• Vital signs, dressing changes, and aseptic/sterile procedure setup
• Specimen collection and labeling, phlebotomy, and urinalysis
• Telephone and pharmacy coordination/refill requests
• EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation (compliance exam required; two attempts allowed)

Patient Population & Ratios

• Adults and geriatric patients; acuity ranges from moderate to high

Interdisciplinary Support Available

IV therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response, and unit secretary support

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; acute care rehab experience preferred
• Travel experience required — no first-time travelers
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• EMR experience required
• EKG competency exam required prior to start
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• No candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
