Day Shift | 13-Week Contract
This oncology unit provides specialized care for patients receiving chemotherapy and other cancer-related treatments. The care team is well-supported with patient care technicians available each shift and a unit secretary during days, allowing nurses to focus on direct patient care. Mobile phones are used to facilitate real-time communication with staff and physicians.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 4 weekend days per schedule period (Saturday and Sunday)
- Float requirement: as needed
Clinical Scope
- Oncology patient population with medical/surgical acuity
- Chemotherapy administration
- Strong patient experience focus: whiteboards, bedside shift report, hourly safety rounds, and key word communication protocols
Required Qualifications
- Medical/surgical nursing background
- Current RN licensure (Virginia or compact)
- No specialty certifications required
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs
